Verdict? Not Worth It.
Being a fan of the early days of the now dying comedy spoof genre, I was hoping writer/actor Marlon Wayans would bring it back with something clever and funny. A Haunted House leaves a lot to be desired .The movie is basically “Scary Movie 4.5”, spoofing the popular Paranormal Activity series along with other recent horror films and even some that have already been spoofed.

The jokes are hit or miss most of them being a miss. I’d say there’s about two maybe three jokes that actually made me laugh during the entire movie. Marlon Wayans is a likeable actor, but his charm alone isn’t enough to save the movie from its “Not Worth It” stamp.
I agree with you on this, i think Wayans needs to move on with something different than the spoof genre, because i think he is capable of much more.
He’s particularly good when he does movies out off the spoof genre. Check out Requiem for a dream and The Ladykillers!
I loved him in The Ladykillers and Requiem was also good. He was even likable in Above the Rim with Tupac.
